Important U.S. Visa and Entry Update – Effective June 9, 2025

Subject: Suspension and Limitation of Entry for Certain Foreign Nationals

In accordance with the Presidential Proclamation on Restricting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats, the United States government will suspend or limit the entry and visa issuance to nationals of specific countries, beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on June 9, 2025.

This proclamation is part of an ongoing national effort to safeguard the security of the United States and its citizens by addressing potential threats linked to terrorism, national security, and public safety.

What This Means for Affected Applicants:

  • Nationals from the designated countries may still apply for U.S. visas and attend scheduled visa interviews at U.S. embassies and consulates.

  • However, even if you complete the application and interview process, you may be ineligible for visa issuance or denied entry into the United States under the terms of this proclamation.

  • Visa processing for affected applicants will be subject to additional scrutiny, and issuance will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the restrictions outlined in the proclamation.

Who Is Affected?

The list of affected countries will be determined and published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in coordination with the U.S. Department of State. Applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor official U.S. government websites for updated information.
